that is not a skyway , anything.
it's a mid 90's kids bike, is my guess. super shiny though so it does have that going for it.
Welds are super nice resembles a skyway streetstyler almost to a tee and judging by my experience with serial numbers and bikes it most likely an 87 I am a collector of old and mid school bikes and have 28 at the moment I'm super knowledgeable on em it is a very well built frame maybe overseas or custom build but I'm not sure but it has an awesome feel riding it reminds me of my old school dyno air or my mid to old-school performer performer minus mag wheels by feel but not by looks and for tube size it's lightweight for its era I'd sure like to know what it is just for curiosity I'll probably keep it and restore it with original parts whatever those may be

It was spray painted red and after hours of carefully scraping the chrome is beautiful
i owned ( and broke) a skyway in the late 80's.
I'd bet a single dollar that the bike in question is not a skyway from 87. Didn't skyway go out of business late 80's? Or at least stop making / selling frames..
My guess is that bike is a department store, mid to late 90's childs bike.
Cool I own two skyways from the late 80s currently very similar welds I don't believe it's a skyway but is very possible defiantly not a department store bike I buy restore and sell bmx bikes and have for a long time now I don't buy department store bikes and judging by the quality of chrome and it's weight it's a top notch bike from a good maker defiantly costed some dough you can tell by welds and chrome,and back tangs it looks like if a late 80's skyway streetstyler or street beat had sex with a oldschool gt pro performer you'd end up with this but the lower rear bars that go to the tangs are shaped different than any thing I've ever seen and I've personally owned over 600 bmx bikes in my bike flipping adventures and this one makes me kinda excited to find out what it is and they changed the composition of chrome in 1992 so I guarantee it's older than that plus it is pre v brake and feels very good riding it wheelies awesome and feels awesome on big jumps and landing after catching some air I even flat landed it off a 6ft ledge just to test it and I'm 170 lbs felt better than most bikes it's a beast I don't plan on selling it if it's a department store bike than it's the best one ever made hands down

I still can't find a chrome one of those and the serial numbers dont come up on mongoose website and I didn't know this site was full of people who find punctuation and spelling so damn important I had a bike I wasn't sure on squirrel nuts answered my question on it I'm into old-school bikes got 20+ in my shop at all times I go through more bikes in a month or two than most people own thier whole life id say I'm knowledgeable I've been building, selling and most importantly riding them for over 20 yrs now and I've worked in multiple bicycle shops with over ten yrs under my belt professionally working with bikes this one still puzzles me on how nice it is for a mongoose and must be a pro model is guess plus I personally havent liked a mongoose since 1985 when they looptailed thier bikes I don't pay attention to them after that so that being said go ride your bike with no seat like you do some more and enjoy that seat post like you do smart ass if I wanted to talk shit to someone I would go visit your mom again son
