Not sure of the origin of the Cubase Generic driver. One method to suppress any unwanted ASIO driver without messing with the registry is locate and rename the dll. IIRC, ASIO drivers have a registry entry in HKEYLOCALMACHINE SOFTWARE ASIO which is scanned by applications to pick up the the available ASIO drivers. When loading CbB will add the drivers to preferences if it can communicate with them otherwise the will be ignored.

And does anyone know how to totally remove that driver Windows 10? I was using the Yamaha driver, but then at some point I would run a version of Sibelius and in the startup screen I would see a bunch of flashing and the GLLA text was in the flashing text. Anyway, I have not seen and random plugin failures since I did this. I assumed that’s what was happening when drivers were not activated, but it wasn’t. Haven’t received registration latemcy E-mail?

I’ve spent more time trouble-shooting Sonar than I have using it over the past month. I don’t really even see a way to tell it is installed other than looking for the name in the Registry.

Well, that driver does work outside steinberg. Do you not have ANY audio interface??

I will see how that works out I have since re-installed 8. There has to be a fix for this.

It could have something to do with the fact that I have several installed versions of Sibelius and I sometimes run them simultaneously. Steinberg recommends using the manufacturer’s ASIO driver, rather than the generic driver, whenever possible. I tried re-installing Sonar. It should not be necessary if you interface has a factory supplied ASIO driver.

I am pretty sure it came in with a Steinberg product but I didn’t find anything googling over there either. Resonant Serpent Max Output Level: I googled it, and read up, but no real solution.
